Objectives of the Foundation

The Clefs de St-Pierre Foundation was established in order to support the renovation and upkeep of Saint-Pierre Cathedral. It now also fulfils an important mandate in relation to the archaeological site.

This mandate includes three objectives:

• To preserve and enhance the heritage of the archaeological site of Saint-Pierre Cathedral.
• To allow the public, researchers, school groups and visitors an opportunity to discover and understand a nationally and internationally significant archaeological site, and enjoy its unique features in an atmosphere of quiet respect for the spirit of the place.
• To carry out daily management of the site, welcome visitors, and offer programmes that enhance the site: by presenting the remains in an engaging way, interpreting them, organising guided tours, conferences and so on.
