Our teaching programme offers several types of resources for teachers and students: professionally guided tours or free visits with work sheets (French only), teaching resources (French only), a scavenger hunt (French only), a reading corner, an audio tour, interactive kiosk, etc.
The "archaeology" section of this website provides a large quantity of information on the history of the excavations and the chronology of events that took place over the century. Written and visual documents published by the archeologist are provided in the "library" section of the website.
Cost of self-guided tours:
Two activity packs are available: the first focuses on the excavations of the north cathedral, the second one on the baptisteries. Both activity packs are available in three levels: primary years 3-4 (level 1), years 5-6 (level 2) and lower secondary year 7-8-9 (level 3).
The activity work sheets can be downloaded for free and photocopied for handouts to students. An answer key for teachers is also available.
The average time required for each of this activities is 45 to 50 min. This allows teachers to divide classes into two groups working in parallel. The activity is suitable for individual or pair work.
